By now everybody has at least heard the phrase the American Dream well, have you ever believed it? I think the American Dream, once lost and forgotten, has been ressurected by the collective election of BARACK OBAMA. The United States, a country with, arguably, the most racial problems, has elected an African-American man as Prez! Now, I'm not promoting his win as a racial victory, in fact this election should not have been about race. But you can't ignore it, it's in your face all the time. I'm constantly being reminded that I am an African-American, but Caucasians are only reminded that they are Caucasian when they are in a room full of people of a different persuasion. I'm not posting this blog to rant about how mistreated I've been because of my race, because in truth, a lot of you don't really care. Back to the Dream, this historic election reestablishes the idea that anything is possible. It has given me new hope about my future. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what Obama has in store for our great nation. Sidenote, I'm not REALLY trying to endorse and force upon you my avid adoration and support for Obama, but I'm not going to hide it. If you were supportive of the other candidate, then good for you & sorry for your loss. He put up a great fight. I guess now we wait, hopefully Obama makes good on his promise of CHANGE for America and the whole world. :]
